She was only of 13 years old when Ms. Bal lost her father. It was her father`s dream he shared with her at times that his daughter must do something worthy for the society particularly for the welfare of weaker sections that inculcate strength to work hard for turning this dream into reality.  Presently posted as Sub Divisional Magistrate at Shahkot this young PCS officer is truly a symbol of women empowerment.

Though the path was strewn with thorns and there were a number of hostilities due to the sad demise of her father but she didn't lose courage and dedicatedly put all her efforts to carve a niche for herself. The biggest support came from her mother, who treated her at par with brother and gave her full freedom to pursue her career. After completing her schooling from local MGN Public school, Bal got admission in DAVIET from where she did her Engineering in Electronics and Communications. A bright student, Bal was then selected in IT Giant Wipro to be posted in Bangalore. Apart from excelling in study Ms. Bal also took a keen interest in extra-curricular activities and during her college days was adjudged best debater in Punjab Technical University.

But before her joining she appeared for the exam for coveted Punjab Civil Service and cleared the preliminary exam with ease. At a crucial juncture of her life Ms Bal then decided to decline job in Wipro and appear for mains exam. After clearing her PCS main examination she again thought of doing a good job to support her family and she joined Mehar Chand Polytechnic College as a lecturer. Ms. Bal worked there for two months when she was finally selected in PCS by scoring the seventh rank in the state. She joined as Assistant Commissioner in Hoshiarpur before getting the charge of SDM Shahkot.

Bal says that was really a moment of glory for her but ahead lied a huge responsibility to serve the society aptly through the service.  Besides doing my official works I do secure time to interact or organize functions in educational institutes so that they can be made aware of the various professional fields to chose one out of them as per their dreams or talents.
