SAD organises protest against Executive Officer

Fatehgarh Sahib, February 12, 2018: High drama was witnessed at the office of Municipal Council Sirhind today as the workers of SAD(B) headed by Didar Singh Bhatti former MLA hold protest against the executive Officer of Municipal Council Sirhind and gheraoed his office in protest against his refusal to issue No Objection Certificate ( NOC) to SAD(B) candidate, from ward number 10 as tomorrow is the last day for filling nomination. Heavy police contingent led by DSP DS Khak and SDM Fatehgarh Sahib reached the spot and saved the situation from taking ugly turn. The Akalis raised slogans against the Govt.

They alleged that apprehending defeat Congress leaders are pressurizing executive officer not to issue NOC, so that their candidate could become councilor unopposed. They said Congress Govt. has failed on all fronts and p[people feel cheated and wanted to teach them a lesson, so instead of facing people they are adopting unfair means and pressurizing officers for back door entry. They said SAD(B) will definitely put another candidate and may adopt any independent but will not allow Congress leaders to make mockery of democracy.

When contacted Bhupinder Singh Executive Officer, he said that he will act as per law and six persons applied for NOc. Three has been given two are pending and one has been rejected due to discrepancies. He denied any political pressure and said anyone can get NOc and he has already issued NOC to two persons.

Sources told that son of former MLA has also applied at 12th hour for NOC and it is pending.
