Kangan youth succumbs at SKIMS

Srinagar, April 15: A youth who was critically injured during clashes with government forces at Kangan area of Ganderbal in central Kashmir Last week succumbed to his Injuries at Sher Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura on Sunday.

Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday expressed his grief over the death of Kangan youth who succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura hospital today morning.

Amir Hamid Lone (22) son of Abdul Hamid Lone, a resident of Chattergul Kangan was critically injured in Kangan clashes which erupted soon after the news about the passing away of another youth Gowhar Ahmad Rather at SKIMS spread in the area.

Amir battled for life more than 12 days at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of SKIMS Soura. had received injuries on his head during forces action at Kangan on April 3, he succumbed at SKIMS, Soura on Sunday.

Medical Superintendent SKIMS Dr Farooq Jan confirmed the death of Lone.

Sources said that Lone had received serious head injuries in forces action during clashes in Kangan.

Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday expressed his grief over the death of Kangan youth who succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura hospital today morning.

“Deeply grieved as Amir Lone(21) shot at by forces during Gowhars funeral at #Kangan succumbed to his injuries today after battling for life for 12 days .. we lost one more budding youth to Indian states aggressive military approach to deal with #Kashmir dissent !,” Mirwaiz wrote on Twitter.
