VB nabs Naib-Tehsildar, one JE of PSPCL on bribery charges

Chandigarh, May: Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption, today nabbed a Naib Tehsildar-cum-executive magistrate and his agent red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 17500/-.

Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Naib Tehsildar Dharminder Kumar posted at Banga, SBS Nagar and his agent  Gaggandeep have been nabbed red handed on the complaint of Gagandip Singh.

He added that the complainant has approached the Bureau and informed that the accused were demanding bribe of Rs. 17500/- as one percent of the total amount for the registry of 106 marla plot in the name of his wife.

After verifying the information the Bureau laid a trap and the accused Naib Tehsildar and his agent were caught red handed in the presence of two official witnesses.

 He said a case under section 7, 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at Vigilance Bureau Flying Squad-1, Police Station, Jalandhar and further investigation was under progress.

Another team of VB nabbed Junior Engineer of PSPCL Jaswinder Kumar posted  at Sub-Division Mukandpur for taking bribe of Rs 8000.
