Bhagwant Mann rules out alliance with Congress

Khanna – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann put a full stop on the speculations of alliance of his party with the Congress on Monday. Reacting to the rumours being spread about poll alliance with the Congress in the state, Mann said that poll alliance with the Congress will not be done. He also said that he would not join the Congress and contest 2019 elections on the AAP ticket.

Mann, who was addressing party workers at Ramgarhia Bhawan, here, on Monday, ruled out any talks in this regard with the Congress and said that AAP is strong enough and would not initiate any talks of alliance. He said that he was still unhappy with party chief Arvind Kejriwal for the apology he (Kejriwal) tendered to former Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia. He said that the AAP was still fighting against the menace of drugs.

Mann said that the Congress and Akali Dal are in hand in glove and defaming the AAP by spreading wrong news pertaining to alliance with the Congress. He said that there was still no decision of the party to fight panchayat elections but announced that he would grant Rs 5 lakh to those village panchayat which will be elected unanimously. He said that party is reaching out to volunteers to strengthen the party and claimed that the AAP would be a big force to reckon with.

Answering a question he said that he was not annoyed with party and had not participated in the Shahkot bye-election due to some important personal work. Gurdeep Singh Sekhon president Malwa zone-2, MLA Harpal Singh Cheema, president Khanna Anil Datt Phally, Samrala president Sarbans Singh Manki, Malkeet Singh Meeta and other local leaders and workers of the party also present on this occasion.
